Monkey Jungle is a famous natural park encompassing 120,000 square
meters. It was established in the 1930’s to display and
protect monkeys in a semi-free habitat.
Many innovative research projects on the life of monkeys have
been carried out over the years at the park. The park is also
a visitor attraction for all visitors to Miami, it is located
a short distance from the city near the town of Cutler Bay.
The park contains around 400 monkeys of 30 different species
many of which are endangered. Visitors walk through a series of
tunnels and cages, in fact the park’s motto is “Where
humans are caged and monkeys run wild”.
The park is also home to an Amazonian rainforest, the only tropical
forest in North America.
